SPIRITUAL FORMATION
St. Andrew’s invites all Christians into a community that leads each person to become more Christ-like. We seek to grow in Christ through contemplation and action in our daily lives. We offer ministries and education that will help people to grow in all ages and stages of life. We help each other to see and discern God-given gifts. All the groups listed on this website serve the wider mission of the Body of Christ.
Spiritual formation includes Sunday worship, Bible Study, Adult Forums, and special programs in the seasons before Christmas (Advent) and Easter (Lent). The Vicar, Deacon, and members of the congregation share information about different aspects of the Christian faith. Current programs include:
Morning Prayer and Lectio Divina:
Tuesdays at 8:20 a.m., we hold a worship service that also prepares us for worship the following Sunday by reading the scriptures assigned for that day in advance, and discussing the parts that especially spoke to us, and that we wonder how to apply to our own inner lives. This discussion happens at the point where a homily might be offered. This intimate service, offered in the library, deepens worship and learning, as well as spiritual companionship in the Body of Christ.
Wednesday Eucharist:
The service at 11 a.m. includes an opportunity for the congregation to share their thoughts on the Gospel, or the "saint of the day."
Adult Forum:
A chance to look at vital spiritual issues, led by members of the congregation and members of the community, happens 4 times a year, usually on a 5th Sunday along with a potluck.
